                Energy & Climate

The project focuses on the efficient extraction of CO2 and water from the atmosphere. In addition to the technical challenges, the interaction between the energy system, air quality, and climate plays a crucial role in the project.

                SOEC

The primary focus is on hydrogen generation and synthesis gas production through high-temperature electrolysis basd on Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cells (SOEC). With SOEC, water and CO2 can be directly converted into synthesis gas.

                Energy Carrier

In the project, the final process step is methanol synthesis to provide a liquid energy carrier for local use as well as for long-distance transportation.
